SPEECH & DEBATE COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Public Forum Debate (Intro, Intermediate, Advanced Level)
Public Forum Debate is one of the most popular forms of debate that involves opposing teams of two, debating a topic concerning a current event. Students present cases, engage in rebuttal and refutation, and also participate in a “crossfire” (similar to a cross examination) with the opportunity to question the opposing team. Students will be able to enhance their skills in public speaking, debate, and leadership.
Competitive Speech (Intro, Intermediate, Advanced Level)
Competitive speech is a very powerful activity which teaches students many skills which are in high demand in the contemporary world: public speaking, research skills, writing and logical thinking! Students will be exposed to various individual speaking events such as Original Oratory, Dramatic, Interpretation, Poetry, and many more.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE
- Virtual PD will be offered to any staff member in your organization interested in becoming a school speech & debate coach. A maximum of 3 staff members can be trained during the school year.
- Customized Curriculum, lesson plans, and debate evidence will be provided for the school speech & debate team or an elective class.
- Bi-Monthly On-Site or Online Classroom Visits by certified debate instructor to support the school speech & debate coach.
- Speech & Debate Tournaments/Competitions

American Debate League Annual Membership Fee (Contact us for pricing)
- Schools and Organizations may sign up for American Debate League Annual Membership to participate in the Speech and Debate Tournaments/Competitions during 2020-2021 school year.
- Schools and Organizations are responsible for providing judges for the school teams.
- There is a limit to the number of teams that can sign up for the competitions

- Customized curriculum, lesson plans, and debate evidence package
- Virtual Monthly PD to train your designated staff to be the school speech & debate coach. A maximum of 3 staff members can be trained during the school year
- Bi-Monthly Onsite or Online Classroom visits by ADL certified debate instructor to support the school speech and debate coach
- 3 American Debate League Tournaments for all students participating in the speech & debate program
