INTRO & COMPETITIVE SPEECH ACADEMY

Open To New & Experienced Speakers
(3 Separate Groups: 4-5th | 6-8th | 9-12th Grade)

Intro & Competitive speech events

BEGINNERS LEVEL:

​Speech Level 100
Intro to Public Speaking & Speech (Beginner/ No experience)

All Interpretative Events: Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, & Program Oral Interpretation

All Individual events/ Limited Prep: Impromptu , Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: 

Speech Level 200
Intermediate Speech Program (students with at least 1 year experience in Speech program)

All Interpretative Events: Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, & Program Oral Interpretation

All Individual events/ Limited Prep: Impromptu , Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking

ADVANCED LEVEL: 

Speech Level 300
Advanced Speech Program (students with at least 3 years of experience  in competitive speech program)

All Interpretative Events: Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, & Program Oral Interpretation

All Individual events/ Limited Prep: Impromptu , Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking

Available Courses:

Speech Level 100 - Beginners
Speech Level 200 - Intermediate
Speech 300 - Advanced Level

Dates:

Times: Eastern Time

Winter Semester I:
1/7/23 -3/4/23

Spring Semester I:
3/11/23 -5/6/23
After School Program
​Tues (4-6pm | 6:30-8:30pm)
Wed (4-6pm |6:30-8:30pm)
Thurs (4-6pm | 6:30-8:30pm)

Weekend Program
​Sat (10-12pm | 1-3pm | 4-6pm)
Sun (10-12pm)


Typical Virtual Speech Academy Schedule:

Students will be actively engaged in all of the activities from the beginning of the session to the end.

10:00-10:30 am
Activity #1 (Intro to Oral Interpretation & Group discussion on good or bad literature)

10:30-11:00 am
Activity #2 (Develop your oral interpretation presentation - Skill practice)

11:00-11:30 am
Activity #3 (Group oral interpretation activity)

11:30-12:00 pm
​Activity #4 (Practice Individual presentation)
